"Lianne's voice is an attractive and unfailingly sure instrument, and she has considerable acting chops, what's more, she is able to combine these skills to deliver nuanced interpretations across a range of styles with both sensitivity and showbiz savvy. Lianne has....that something that distinguishes her from other gifted artists and makes us sense that we are [listening to] someone special."
- Roy Sander, Bistro Awards

Lianne Marie Dobbs is originally from the San Francisco Bay area, the granddaughter of classical trumpet player and renowned music teacher, Rocco DiStasio. She grew up wanting to be like Judy Garland, Deanna Durbin, Barbra Streisand, and Shirley MacLaine and has subsequently been compared to each of them at different points in major newspaper reviews. Lianne Marie has a powerhouse voice honed in musical theatre, with a quick vibrato that lends itself well to gentle ballads and wartime standards.

In addition to listening to the smooth and solid voices from the Golden Era, Lianne Marie earned a BA at San Francisco State University focusing on Acting, Shakespeare, Directing, and Women's Studies. She then further studied Shakespeare on scholarship in Oxford, England with Royal Shakespeare Company greats like Estelle Kohler, John Barton, Jane Lapotaire, and David Leveaux. After completing her college degree, Lianne Marie soloed opposite Broadway star Jason Danieley in an evening celebrating Gershwins' Of Thee I Sing with the San Francisco Symphony, and starred in the world premieres of new musicals by Andrew Lippa, Paul Gordon, Jonathan Brielle, and Scott Alan.
Now a New York-based singer and actress, Lianne Marie has also performed for the US Navy aboard the historic Battleship Wisconsin, performed her BroadwayWorld nominated cabaret show in a successful run at the Metropolitan Room, appeared in star-studded jazz evenings at Joe's Pub in New York City and soloed with the Fred Barton Orchestra.

In her debut album "Everything Old is New Again"-- released on the Shout!Broadway label -- Lianne Marie Dobbs puts her spin on rare songs from the Golden Era, interpreting the works of Kern, Mercer, Loesser, Styne & Cahn, Lerner & Lane, and many more. Bill Zeffiro accompanies her on a grand piano, and adds to the arrangements with his personal zeal while honoring the composers' original intentions. Lianne Marie has clear warm tones that touch you deep within, and an optimistic bounce to her uptempo choices that will keep you smiling.

"This is a singer who's shining her rising star. Wise is the [Great American Songbook] lover who goes to her shows."
